Proscar

Proscar (finasteride) is a medicine specially intended for the treatment of two various problems - benign prostatic hyperplasia and androgenetic alopecia. The first one is also known as BPH - it is a noncancerous growth of the prostate gland. The second one is also referred to as male pattern baldness - it is the type of hair loss that affects only men and usually starts with the thinning of the hair on the temples and vertex of the head. Proscar can be used by men only.

Important Information

Proscar is not going to work for everyone. You will have to take it on a regular basis for as long as recommended to make sure it's efficient. Finasteride can be absorbed through the skin - women or children should not be allowed to handle Proscar. If a woman accidentally comes into contact with this medication from a broken or crushed tablet, wash the area with soap and water right away.

Before Taking Proscar

To make sure Proscar is going to be safe for you, inform your health care provider if you have ever had an allergic reaction to finasteride, or to a similar medicine. Taking Proscar may increase your risk of developing prostate cancer. Your health care provider will perform tests to make sure you do not have other conditions that would prevent you from safely using Proscar.
