Cialis Professional
Cialis Professional is a new and improved formula of the original Cialis®. It is a phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor. Cialis Professional is used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED).
Cialis Professional works by relaxing the blood vessels in the penis, which allows more blood to enter the penis. This results in an erection. Cialis Professional can be taken with or without food.
Cialis Professional should be taken as needed, about 30-60 minutes before sexual activity. Cialis Professional can last up to 36 hours. Do not take Cialis Professional more than once a day.
If you miss a dose of Cialis Professional, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
Side Effects
Side effects of Cialis Professional include:
- headache
- dizziness
- flushing
- stomach upset
- back pain
- muscle pain
- nasal congestion
- rash
Precautions
Before taking Cialis Professional, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems. Talk to your pharmacist for more details.
Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: heart problems (such as heart attack or life-threatening irregular heartbeat in the past 6 months, chest pain/angina, heart failure), stroke in the past 6 months, kidney disease, liver disease, high or low blood pressure, a severe loss of body water (dehydration), penis conditions (such as angulation, fibrosis/scarring, Peyronie's disease), history of painful/prolonged erection (priapism), conditions that may increase the risk of priapism (such as sickle cell anemia, leukemia, multiple myeloma), eye problems (such as retinitis pigmentosa, sudden decreased vision, NAION), bleeding disorders, active stomach ulcers.
This drug may make you dizzy. Do not drive, use machinery, or do any activity that requires alertness until you are sure you can perform such activities safely. Limit alcoholic beverages.
To reduce the risk of dizziness and lightheadedness, get up slowly when rising from a sitting or lying position.
Older adults may be more sensitive to the side effects of this drug, especially dizziness and changes in blood pressure. During sexual activity, if you become dizzy or nauseated, or have pain, numbness, or tingling in your chest, arms, neck, or jaw, stop and call your doctor right away.
You should not take Cialis Professional if you are taking nitrates (such as isosorbide, nitroglycerin) in any form (such as tablet, capsule, patch, ointment), or if you are using certain recreational drugs called "poppers" (such as amyl nitrate or nitrite, butyl nitrate or nitrite).
Cialis Professional may cause a sudden decrease in vision in one or both eyes. Contact your doctor right away if this happens.
Sudden decrease or loss of hearing has been reported in people taking PDE5 inhibitors, such as Cialis Professional. Contact your doctor right away if you experience these symptoms.
Cialis Professional may cause an erection that will not go away. If you experience an erection that lasts more than 4 hours, get medical help right away.
A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, get medical help right away if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction, including: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.

Drug Interactions
Drug interactions may change how your medications work or increase your risk for serious side effects. This document does not contain all possible drug interactions. Keep a list of all the products you use (including prescription/nonprescription drugs and herbal products) and share it with your doctor and pharmacist. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicines without your doctor's approval.
Some products that may interact with this drug include: alprostadil, certain blood pressure medications (such as amlodipine, angiotensin II receptor blockers such as valsartan, birth control pills containing drospirenone), certain drugs for high blood pressure, certain drugs for the treatment of HIV infection or AIDS, certain drugs used to treat fungal infections (such as ketoconazole, itraconazole), certain drugs used to treat seizures (such as carbamazepine, phenytoin), efavirenz, nevirapine, rifabutin, rifampin, ritonavir.
This medication may interfere with certain laboratory tests (such as bleeding times, blood pressure), possibly causing false test results. Make sure laboratory personnel and all your doctors know you use this drug.
Overdose
If someone has overdosed and has serious symptoms such as passing out or trouble breathing, call 911. Otherwise, call a poison control center right away. US residents can call their local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. Canada residents can call a provincial poison control center.
Symptoms of overdose may include: severe dizziness, fainting, chest/jaw/left arm pain, nausea, vomiting.
Notes
Do not share this medication with others. Doing so may increase the risk of priapism (prolonged, painful erections).
